Hello – I’m Beth Schubert; I’m a Program Coordinator for Capacity Building for the US Department of Interior Office of Inspector General.
I found the workshop this week really informative. I’ve had the opportunity to really learn a lot more about the SAIs, and their background and their legal framework. And I really feel like the PMF is a great tool for them to take a holistic approach at assessing their performance and identifying their strengths and weaknesses. And the tool can really serve as a roadmap to help guide them on what areas they want to improve; and I feel like this is really an area where PASAI and DOI can work together to figure out how we can be of the best benefit to the SAIs.
As PASAI helps the SAIs implement the tool and use the framework, it will also help us identify where and how to best use our resources. Hence by working together, we can really complement the work that each our organisations is doing to be the most benefit to the SAIs and help them be more effective in their work.
